GoAir & Yatra Online tie-up to offer cash back to passengers

Mumbai, March 10, 2008: GoAir, India’s smart airline, has signed a deal with Yatra Online to offer Rs 200 cash back on all GoAir travel bookings valid upto April-end. Passengers can avail this cash back offer by booking their GoAir tickets between March 7 to March 16, 2008. This offer is part of an on-going initiative by GoAir to offer passengers best bargains for early GoAir bookings made through Yatra Online. This offer is valid on all bookings made through www.yatra.com during the booking period.

According to Mr Edgardo Badiali, Chief Executive Officer, GoAir, “Passengers availing this offer will be able to get best benefits on their holiday-related travel bookings. It is unlikely that such offers will be matched during the peak season. Through this tie-up we also expect a heavy escalation of early bookings for the oncoming holiday season.”

The Yatra Online tie-up is part of a series of ongoing initiatives by GoAir aimed at offering smartest fares in the industry and escalates forward bookings for the summer season. Recently, the airline had completed a similar tie-up with Cleartrip.com wherein  GoAir passengers were offered a return ticket at Rs 599/-

Award for second consecutive year from Patwa

Berlin March 7, 2008: India has something to rejoice at the ITB Berlin. GoAir, India’s smart fare airline picked up the most coveted award for “Best Domestic Airline For Excellence in Quality and Efficient Service” in a very stiff competition amongst airlines of Asia Pacific Region. Moreover, this is the second consecutive year that GoAir has been awarded this prestigious award. This award was presented to GoAir at Berlin Federal Republic of Germany during the Global Tourism Event - ITB.

The PATWA is the world’s biggest travel writers’ organization represented by  members from 70 countries across the world. The PATWA International Awards is an annual event at ITB Berlin organized during the world’s biggest travel Fair. The Fair  is attended by thousands of exhibitors from 180 countries and over 7000 travel writers. The PATWA award is given in cooperation with Messe Berlin, to recognise individuals, organisations involved in promotion of tourism from various sectors such as aviation, hotels, travel agencies, tour operators, government agencies and the like.

 
TATA-AIG General Insurance inks deal
with GoAir to offer travel insurance

Mumbai March 3, 2008: TATA-AIG General Insurance Limited has  signed a deal with GoAir to offer a unique insurance travel cover to GoAir passengers booking their tickets online at www.GoAir.in. This insurance cover will be available on all online bookings made from GoAir’s website only. The Indian domestic passenger booking a GoAir ticket will be offered the option of buying the insurance cover for his travel at a nominal premium of Rs 129/-

Commenting on the deal, Mr Jeh Wadia, Managing Director, GoAir said, “Our unique partnership with Tata AIG General Insurance is part of a strategy to provide value to our passengers. Tata AIG General Insurance will offer their travel insurance product under the GoSurpises portfolio.”

According to the insurance cover offered by TATA-AIG General Insurance, any GoAir passenger choosing to buy the Offer will be financially compensated upto Rs 10,500 by TATA-AIG General Insurance in case of a flight delay beyond a specified duration. Besides this, the passenger buying the insurance cover will also be entitled to various benefits including Baggage Loss Reimbursement (upto Rs 7,500) if baggage is lost while in the custody of GoAir on the flight for which insurance cover has been purchased. The Trip Cancellation & Trip Interruption Benefit will reimburse the original cost of the GoAir ticket if the passenger buying the insurance cover needs to cancel or shorten his trip due to sickness, injury or loss of an immediate family member.  The Emergency Accidental Medical Benefit will reimburse medical bills (up to Rs 100,000) if the passenger is involved in an accident during a trip and needs medical attention.

The offering under the “GoSurprises” umbrella is part of GoAir’s larger marketing strategy to offer passengers value-based travel experience including convenience of schedule at unique price points.
