GoAir announces flexible fare plan
  • Launch GoFlexi Fare on all routes
  • No rescheduling charges under GoFlexi plan
  • Cuts cancellation charges to Rs 200

Mumbai February 6, 2008: GoAir, India’s smart fare airline, has announced its flexible fare plan effective immediately. Under the new pricing plan, GoAir has launched a new fare package called GoFlexi Fare. The GoFlexi Fare allows a GoAir passenger to make unlimited changes in his travel itinerary without the levy of rescheduling charges. The passenger booked on a GoFlexi Fare has the flexibility to change his date of travel and re-book his ticket free of cost. As part of the GoFlexi bundle, GoAir has also slashed the cancellation charges to Rs 200 on all GoFlexi bookings. The GoFlexi bundle allows cancellations or rescheduling to be made upto two hours prior to scheduled time of flight departure.

Announcing the flexible fare plan, Mr Jeh Wadia, Managing Director, GoAir, said “Our GoFlexi Fare is aimed at providing passengers the flexibility to modify their travel itinerary as per their individual needs without burdening their budgetary allocations. The GoFlexi Fares are available on all routes across our entire network.”

A passenger booked under GoFlexi Fare will not be charged the transaction fee applicable for re-booking a confirmed GoAir ticket. The passenger will only have to pay the difference in fare amount between the original booked fare and the applicable fare of the revised booking. In case, the new fare is lower than the originally booked fare, the difference in fare amount will be retained in the passengers’ credit account with the airline for utilization within six months period.

Launched under the umbrella of “GoSurprizes”, The GoFlexi Fare launch is part of GoAir’s marketing strategy to offer passengers a smart travel experience based on convenience of schedule at unique price points.

The GoFlexi Fare announcement comes on the heels of a massive flight operations expansion programme undertaken by GoAir in November 2007. “Passengers availing the GoFlexi Fare can now be assured of enhanced connectivity as our new schedule provides increased flights in the 11 destinations that we operate in. We have also added the morning, afternoon and evening connections in Mumbai and Delhi to connect the two metro cities to key business & leisure destinations like Bangalore, Goa, Hyderabad and Chennai as part of our flight operations strategy,” affirms Mr Wadia.

GoAir expects GoFlexi Fares to contribute 10 per cent revenue growth during the current year. Backed by augmentation in flight operations and a smart pricing strategy, the airline has been consistently recording highest load factors in the Indian aviation industry since March 2007. GoAir has been recording average load factors of about 83 per cent. Moreover, the airline’s market share has jumped to 4.2 per cent.

The GoFlexi Fare is available in addition to the existing GoSave Fare. With the launch of GoFlexi Fare, passengers booking a GoAir ticket can choose from two fare plans -- GoSave and GoFlexi. While GoFlexi Fare is designed to offer a bundle of additional benefits, GoSave Fares will retain the existing pricing profile.
