Adds three new routes- Bangalore, Amritsar and Chandigarh
-Inducts two brand new A320 aircraft this month
Delhi March 25th, 2009: GoAir, India’s smartest airline today announced the addition of three new major destinations, with 226 new weekly routes and the induction of 2 brand new A320 aircraft. With the addition of Amritsar, Bangalore and Chandigarh routes GoAir will expand its services further into South and North India taking the total number of major destinations served by the airline to 11. In addition to the new routes, the airline had also added new connections taking the total number of weekly flights serviced by GoAir to 474.
Key highlights of new routes
- BOM – new flights and new destinations to Amritsar, Bangalore and Chandigarh
- JAI – New connection now to DEL, so GoAir now connects JAI to BOM and DEL
- AMD – new connection to DEL, BLR and COK (via BLR). So now AMD gets connected to 3 major metros and to COK for the holidaying tourist!
- BLR – opening of a new station – connecting BOM (direct) morning and evening and DEL (via BOM). Also connecting to ATQ via BOM and DEL. Apart from that we connect BLR to COK as well and AMD. So making BLR a station of strength for GoAir
- ATQ – new station with only airline operating a same aircraft flight from BOM. ATQ gets connected to BOM, DEL and BLR
- IXC – gets connected to BOM and DEL as direct flights and to GOI through DEL
- COK – gets connected to BLR and AMD apart from the in service BOM connection
- GOI – gets connected with a flight timing change to DEL, 2 connections to BOM with a late evening connection to BOM (only flight at that time
GoAir also announced the induction of 2 brand new A320 aircraft this Month and will induct two more aircraft by June 2009. This will bring the total number of aircraft in its fleet by June 2009 to the level of eight, making the average age of the GoAir fleet (being all brand new deliveries), of approx. 7 months. This will be the youngest fleet amongst Indian carriers.

The Bangalore route will now provide the customers with the ease of flying direct morning and evening Mumbai – Bangalore flights on GoAir. Further, Bangalore will also serve as a host to new connections. GoAir will now offer connecting flights from Bangalore to Amritsar via Mumbai and Delhi and will also connect Bangalore to Cochin and Ahmedabad.
The addition of Amritsar as a new station will make GoAir the only airline connecting Amritsar to Mumbai. This also connects Amritsar to the three major metro – Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. GoAir further strengthens its position in Punjab with Chandigarh now getting connected to Mumbai and Delhi through direct flights and to Goa via Delhi.
